Our Caribbean Cruise, Part I

Back in May-ish time frame, when we were still in California but knew we were moving to Houston, I got a phone call from Bob Young.  Bob and Beth are long-time friends of ours from the Baybrook Ward when we used to live in League City.  We used to sing in barbershop quartets together and have the best karaoke parties, and we always talked about going on a cruise together but never did.  Well, Bob knew we were moving back to Houston and called me up and said that he and Beth were about to book a cruise to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, and wanted to know if we would like to join them.  They needed to book their tickets by the following day.  So we made a very spontaneous decision and said Yes!!  So the first week in November was our 7 day cruise with the Youngs and also our friends the Carvers who were in the Baybrook Ward with us and now live in Virginia.  We had such a great time catching up and spending time with some of the best people on this planet.

We went to Jamaica, then to the Grand Cayman Islands, and wrapped up the tour with Cozumel, Mexico.  There was of course, Karaoke...Bob, Rob, and I wore the women out with all of our singing but we had such a great time.  Every night we met for dinner (the food was FANTASTIC)...we will always remember the melting chocolate cake.  The weather was perfect, and of course so was the company.

This was the first night of the cruise.  We laughed all week about the random couple that took the picture of the four of us and asked if Bob and Beth were our parents.

On Monday we went to the top of the boat and checked out all of the activities aboard the Carnival Magic.  Big twisty waterslides (Rob and I tried them all out), great music, food, and company.

Later in the afternoon we hit the karaoke lounge (of course, is there anything better to do, really?)

Then we wrapped up the day with a nice dinner and dancing.

This last pic was taken of Bob and me with our karaoke host Jay, after our rousing rendition of "Endless Love".  Bob sang the Diana Ross part and I was Lionel Richie.  It was unforgettable!!
