Since I've been so busy with work this week Dallin got some special outside help from a friend of ours to build his pinewood derby car. He is really proud of his finished product! Here he is before the races began.
Dallin was part of the colorguard for the flag ceremony.
Getting ready for the races to begin.
Boys working on their last minute finishing touches.
Dallin taking his car in for the first heat. Each boy got to race their car in 6 different heats.
Watching the cars speed down the race track. Dallin didn't win any of his heats but he usually placed 2nd or 3rd. Each heat had 6 different lanes of cars racing.
Dallin said this was the funnest pinewood derby he has done yet. Good times!
This was one of his heats that he placed 3rd in. I had to take a shot of the totally automated system that was projected on a screen for all to see. Technology advancements are great for pinewood derby races!
Yes, we had a great time at the pinewood derby. Right in the middle of it all though, I got a phone call that took me away again for more contract negotiations with the union. I am going to be so happy when all of this is over. I got to see 5 of Dallin's 6 heats. So...most of it. He did a great job! After I finished with negotiations for the afternoon, I got to meet the family in Benicia for Dallin and Zach's basketball game. Yes, another busy Saturday for the Olsen family.

Another post, impressive! =)
Those Olsen boys rock! Talented and hansome....if only I had a daughter their age for future negotiations! I LOVE those boys! Please tell me your dad took you somewhere other than Denny's for a treat!
Pinewood Derby....every boy's rite of passage to young manhood. How exciting. I love that he consistently placed so well and had so much fun.
Stinks we were all called away for negotiations....I just wish your boys could have seen how well their daddy rocked this negotiation thing!!!!
I see where they get their talent.....I'll give Anissa credit for the good looks....sorry, BO, but your wife is gorgeous. ;->
